Jerico Contemporary is delighted to present our last presentation for 2019, 'Pied-à-terre'. In lieu of a traditional exhibition, we have transformed the gallery into an apartment curated with a beautiful selection of exquisite works of art, unique pieces of furniture, antiques and objects.

Emerging during the 1700s, a pied-à-terre is a secondary or temporary lodging; one’s home away from home. Now most commonly used to describe a private apartment in the city, a pied-à-terre is a sanctuary-like abode separate from the traditions and rituals that come with an everyday residence; rather, they’re romantic places of respite where minds wander freely, and conversations unravel with ease.

Inspired by gallery curator and director Jerico Tracy’s love for both art and design, and intuitive ability to seek out original and bespoke interiors, the exhibition will explore the notion of viewing art within a non-traditional gallery setting.

Additional artworks, furniture and objects are available in the gallery, so please come down and experience the pied-à-terre for yourself.
