JORDANA HENRY
AFTER HOURS

Jerico Contemporary is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Australian painter, Jordana Henry from the 9th of August - 1st of September, 2018.

‘After Hours’ features a series of paintings exploring the nude female form, sensual and sacred. In keeping with artists’ oeuvre, her latest body of work features an earthly colour palette - highly textured and richly pigmented. Rendered in oil paint, Henry’s abstract consideration of shape and form beautifully captures the essence of the nude body in all its vulnerability. In the artists' own words, the "intention behind this body of work is to communicate gestures and contours of femininity using brush strokes and textures that invoke both strength and fragility."

Jordana Henry was born in Sydney, Australia in 1990. Her group exhibitions include 'Listen', Saint Cloche, Sydney (2017); 'Brasila', Saint Cloche, Sydney (2017); 'Wax Off', The Secret Garden Gallery, Byron Bay (2015), 'Rough', The Nook Gallery, Mornington (2014); 'Obstract', The BSA Project Space, Mullumbimy (2015). Her solo exhibitions include ‘Minuscule', The BSA Project Space, Mullumbimy (2016). The artists' work is in the following collections, SCU University Artist Book Archive, Lismore, New South Wales and the SCU University Print Archives, Lismore, New South Wales. The artist currently lives and works in Byron Bay, Australia.
